Hello, I have been reading your blog since...well, the beginning and have never posted a comment. I am going to really miss your adventures in Paris--you always knew how to make me laugh out loud in the university library or when I had a mouthful of coffee. I hope you keep a blog on your re-entry into our stratified, increasingly-restless, shopping-obsessed-to-fill-the-void-inside, police-state of a country. I wish you and your family all the best!

Awww, I hadn't seen this one...what can I say? Empty houses are always sad to look at when you're moving, especially if you've had good experiences in them. But the 'soul' of a home is really those who live in it, and you are taking that with you to your new home. You are going to be OK Syl
Oh it reminds me of when you moved in, but now imbued with your memories. I think of apartments like that, haunted with lost souls.
Some new family will move in and their life will move on and so will yours. We will miss you, but like empty apartments, you have filled our memories with yours, too.
I have been in your shoes...moving back to the USA with small children in tow... You will never be the same...you will just be better. Have an artist sketch that apt. building..and frame it for over your new little desk in Seattle.
for g: the fingerless gloves are called mitaines in french (in Canada: moufles). And MJ, I read you blog to polish my english (yes I learn new insults also, always useful). Ì wish you the very best for your return in the States. And the good thing about memories, we only remember the good ones after a few years.
